Our Mission

Advances in medical sciences and biomedical technology have improved human chances

of survival when encountering diseases and other forms of naturally generated disabilities.  Human beings have found new confidence in the healthcare institutions; governments are investing in public health and total well-being of people.  And yet there remain ultimate questions for which it is religion and not science that can inform the vulnerable public in dealing with pain and suffering.  This is the main thrust of spiritual guidance.  Religious traditions like Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam continue to provide responses to many human situations and ethical dilemmas that arise in the clinical setting when dealing with terminal or incurable diseases.  This website has as its mission to provide religious guidance to Muslims, keeping in mind fundamental Islamic teachings and practices, and the prevalent plurality of opinions in all matters of healthcare that are available in print or otherwise, from Arabic, Persian and other Islamic languages around the globe.  The religious-ethical opinions in this website are “recommendations” only.  It is up to the reader to adopt these opinions for solving their bioethical problems.
